Fill your esky
After the 2019/2020 summer bushfire season, there was a national push to head regionally and ‘fill your esky’ – meaning, to take a trip and buy local produce that supports the local economy. Lucky for you, the local produce in the Toowoomba Region is world-class!
Toowoomba Visitor Information Centre
This beautiful Queenslander is based on a typical 1800s-style Toowoomba house. It features stained-glass motifs, Toowoomba souvenirs and refreshments. But the locally-produced food and artisan made items will prove especially popular with foodies! While you’re here, stock up on some maps and other itineraries to help guide you while you’re in town. There’s so much to explore!

Toowoomba Farmer's Markets
Highlights of this Saturday morning market include direct from the farm produce, freshly made sourdough bread and pasta, gourmet meats and much more. The Paddock
More than a local butcher, The Paddock has developed great relationships with local growers to offer other local, in-season produce in their store – everything from fruit and veg to artisan chocolate to sourdough loaves. They also have a range of pre-prepared meals, ready to heat and serve. It’s like a farmer’s market that’s open every day!

Pechey Distillery
Pechey’s signature gin combines traditional and native botanicals with heirloom citrus from the property. You can visit the distillery yourself and do a cellar door tasting, but it’s best to check their website or social media ahead of your trip, as it’s a working farm and homestead and they’re not always open. Make sure you factor Pechey Distillery into any drive north of Toowoomba, as the high country is truly spectacular.
